"CRT Rhizome: error in transmission 404 not found", 2018
CRT Rhizome: error in transmission 404 not found (2016-2018) is the third work in the series of works developed during my PhD candidature at UNSW Art and Design, Sydney, Australia. It is a video art installation consisting of several projectors, a small de-cased exposed CRT monitor, computer processors, Arduino Uno units, capacitive touch sensors, and a large steel frame, shaped like a crude 3-D representation of an iceberg. Sensors made from very thin copper wire on the frame send analogue signals that are converted to digital values. These values in turn, affect the shapes projected within the space that are created from footage of static captured directly from the surface of the small CRT screen, that is suspended within the metallic frame. The work represents a disruption to lineal narratives of technological development by evoking a space of retrograde scientific experimentation. Ruptured images, rigid vertical lines and low frequency electronic crackling sounds, resembling the sounds made by a tesla coil, are triggered by spectator movement within the space, alluding to the role of the spectator in the disruption of transmission."CRT Rhizome: error in transmission 404 not found", 2018
