Spheres and Cloaks of Influence, 2021-2023
"Spheres and Cloaks of Influence", 2021-2023, is a series of digital works exploring basic shapes, physics, colour and meaning. For Valenzuela, "The space between the sign and the signified is where meaning is created, yet they are inseparable in many ways, is there enough space to allow for universal meaning? Is the signified able to be re-imagined outside of the confines of the meaning we have been taught to believe as fact?" (2023) These works are explorations of this space, to be used as digital studies for tangible works on paper, board,canvas and large scale print.
